Happy 16,000 Page Views: Shum-body loves you ... Whether You Are on Twitter or Whether You Are A Twit!

Whoooo hoooooo!  Monday night, I hit 16,000 page views.  Thank you for checking out my blog and staying awhile ... In honor of your reading my blog, here's another Lily On The Lam post!

My friend LM (a.k.a. "The Celebrity Maker," best known from the Lily On The Lam blog post "John Oliver: Tampa Apologizes") works in Marketing and is quite proficient in social media marketing.  I barely knew how to Tweet, nor had any real reason to tweet until I started promoting this internationally famous blog (Are you listening, Ukraine?)  And even now that I have over a thousand tweets under my belt (which I believe is Silver Elite status on Tweet Twit Air), I still am a relative novice.

LM, on the other hand, has almost 8000 tweets.  (I believe that is Platinum Elite.)  LM is connected to many entertainment and political Twitter feeds, including several of the cast members of the hit TV show Glee.  When I first started using Twitter I had no idea which Twitter feeds I should be following.  I started randomly following people who interested me.  (Great person to follow on Twitter?  Kurt Sutter @sutterink on Twitter, creator of the TV show "Sons of Anarchy" - he's always colorful, sometimes controversial and rarely boring.)

In homage to LM's Twitter footsteps, I started following Glee cast member Harry Shum Jr (@iHarryShum on Twitter).  As a 1/2 Asian, I have to give props to a great Asian dancer/actor.  I could never get cast on a TV show based on my dancing ability, unless it was for "America's Worst Dancer."

So I was stretching my eyes, ears and brain during a somewhat boring conference call and saw that Harry Shum Jr. had tweeted a link to his tumblr blog.  I clicked on it, scrolled down and found the following Roald Dahl quote.  I loves me some Roald Dahl - but I had never heard this particular quote before.  So I say a hearty shum-a-riffic thank you to the Shumalicious Harry Shum Jr. for posting this great quote on his blog.  It says everything I've been thinking about this past week in one great quote.  And it's from Roald Dahl's book "The Twits" - a terrific tweet tipped me to The Twits ...  Say that ten times fast, I dare you!

Who says Twitter is a mindless waste of time?  I count this quote discovery as a gem ...

“If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until you can hardly bear to look at it.

A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.”

A very good quote indeed.  Thanks again, Harry Shum Jr.!
