When it comes to awesome gifts, some women may prefer flowers, candy or diamonds. But this past Easter, my friend DDR sent me what has to be the best gift I have received so far in 2012 ...
Beyond cute and edible too! |
An Edible Arrangements Hello Kitty "Friendship Bouquet with Chocolate-Covered Strawberries."
I have never received an Edible Arrangements fruit "bouquet" before, so when the elderly delivery man arrived at my doorstep I figured this must be a mistake. I was certain that this delivery was meant for one of my neighbors.
Now before I could debate the moral implications of whether I would/should scarf down chocolate-covered strawberries mistakenly delivered to me; I spotted the basket featuring a cheeky white cat with a pink bow and instantly knew this delivery was no mistake. This delivery was definitely intended for ME.
If you're a regular LilyOnTheLam.com reader, you'll know that the adorable Sanrio.com cat "Hello Kitty" has (for better or worse) popped up in a plethora of my blog posts, such as:
New Product Wednesday: Hello Kitty Flash Drive
New Product Wednesday: Hello Kitty Egg Mold
New Product Wednesday: Gift Giving Ideas - Hello Kitty Boiled Egg Case
Hello Kitty is even featured in my blog posts discussing psycho doppelgänger fears ... Blog Post: Wicked Little Town.
I am also the (secretly) proud owner of a Hello Kitty waffle maker, Hello Kitty sandwich pocket maker and a Hello Kitty plush doll wearing a koala suit from Australia. I even own the Hello Kitty toaster which burns an image of Hello Kitty into your toast. It doesn't work that well, but since I try to shy away from starches - especially those that seem to have satanic burn marks of ghostly cat visages; I don't really mind.
But there is nothing satanic about this awesome fruit basket! Look at this gorgeous, gorgeous gift!
Thanks DDR for the best gift of 2012! |
I was so enthralled with the gorgeous Edible Arrangements Hello Kitty "Friendship Bouquet" that I didn't see at first that the pineapple was cut into the shape of "Hello Kitty."
Almost too cute to eat! Almost! |
Or perhaps Edible Arrangements has some mad scientist holed up somewhere who devised a hybrid pineapple that grows in the shape of "Hello Kitty." Or maybe not ...

I have to admit that while this fruit basket was extremely, extremely, extremely cute - I was skeptical about the fruit quality in this delivery. Would it be mushy overripe or hard, flavorless and underripe?
I was happy to discover that it was neither. The fruit was perfectly ripe. The Hello Kitty pineapple slices were super sweet - tasted exactly like pineapple I have had in Kauai, Hawaii. And the chocolate-covered strawberries were excellent. This fruit basket made for awesome snacking for quite sometime. The fruit stayed fresh and great-tasting in the refrigerator.
I love when I receive gifts out of the blue. Especially gifts that are Hello Kitty themed! Edible Arrangements did a great job in terms of extreme cuteness, fantastic fruit and courteous delivery. But all the credit goes to DDR for sending me this fabulous gift. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

In addition to my healthy dose of wit and spunk, I will also be using Google Affiliate Ads for Blogger to attempt to increase the revenue from LilyOnTheLam.com. For the Google Affiliate Ads, I will try whenever possible to select ads for items I have tried and like. In honor of the Hello Kitty shaped pineapple in today's blog post, my first Google Affiliate Ad will be for the Nordicware Pineapple Upside Down Cake Pan. I indeed have this pan in my bakeware collection. I also have a Pineapple Upside Down Cakelet Pan which makes mini cakelets (a.k.a. tiny cakes) in the shape of pineapples. For someone who rarely bakes, I have a scary amount of bakeware! But hey, you never know when the mood to bake a Pineapple Upside Down Cake Pan will strike!
